I'm beginning to wonder whether or not the "liberal 9th Circuit" line is of the same kind of quality as the "liberal media line": useful for organizing purposes (see the comments here in particular), but not a particularly useful description of the subject under description. (Regular readers will know that I find "cussing the court" to be an political phenomenon worthy of interest and study, partly because of what I suspect are asymmetrical partisan distribution[s] of gains resulting from it.)
