Read this and then remind me again why Dean was wrong about the south (empirically, not strategically, which is another question entirely; he may be wrong strategically precisely because he was right empirically).
I made the same point here and Jim has some good responses in the comments section, but they mostly go the point of strategy, which was not the only thing that Zell Miller cared about. He tries to argue that Moore and his supporters are not the face of the south. They're not all that's going on in the south, of course, but it's a pretty big story nonetheless.
